Evergreen RAINBOW of Moscow Today, i feel that when Ar Barma and Postnik Yakovlev designed this building : their primary instinct was : " Be gone, boring no-color bricks! Wrong! Bricks were "in" then. The walls of the church mixed bare red brickwork & the domes : gilded, created an overall bright & fairly traditional combination of white, red and golden with a green and blue ceramic inserts providing a touch of rainbow. The astounding structure shapes up as a flame of a bonfire rising into the sky and that’s what caught my eye and heart as I sketched this majesty days on end.
