Уже более 8 веков стоит он на крутом правом берегу Волги, на полпути между Костромой и Кинешмой. Миниатюрный город удивительно поэтичен и красив. По-разному называют Плес - "жемчужиной Волги", "золотым Плесом", "русской Швейцарией" назвал его А.В. Луначарский, "русским самоцветом" виделся Плес Константину Федину. В Плесе достигнута подлинная гармония архитектуры и природы. Набережная протянулась вдоль берега Волги почти на 2 километра. В основной своей массе застройка относится к 18-19 веку. Все три пейзажа сделаны на набережной. 1 - Бывшая контора нефтезаправочной станции братьев Нобелей, вторая половина 19 века - дом слева. Ул.Советская. 2 - Пейзаж около площади Революции. Сохраняется естественный уклон к реке, нет ничего вычурного, искусственного, пышного. 3 - На набережной сосредотачиваются каменные 2-х этажные здания, на соседних улицах встречаются уже смешанная 2-х этажная и деревянная одноэтажная застройка. Недалеко от музея Левитана, в Заречье, расположены кофейни Кувшинниковой, работавшей вместе с Левитаном. Плес - удивительные " живые картины", музей под открытым небом. Мне хотелось передать этот неповторимый колорит русского пейзажа. Черно-белая графика более точно передает камерную красоту.

There is a natural slope to the river, there is nothing pretentious, artificial, lush. 3-stone 2-storey buildings are concentrated on the embankment, on the neighboring streets there are already mixed 2-storey and wooden one-storey buildings. Not far from the Museum of Levitan, in the District, there are coffee Kuvshinnikova, who worked with Levitan. Ples-amazing "living pictures", an open-air Museum. I wanted to convey this unique flavor of the Russian landscape. Black-and-white graphics are more accurately conveys the beauty of the chamber.
