The panorama-like freehand pencil drawing follows the concept of an overall-view of important buildings and sites in the german ruhrgebiet. Significant content related aspects where transferd in a formal compostion which intersects and combines the different impacts of architecture. There are also narrative visual elements like the drawn relation between coal mining and environmental consequences, smoking chimneys, transitory elements like traffic roads and railways, the inner structures of the buildings or diverse functional elements. Including type as a matter of giving information in combination with aesthetic impact of lines and surfaces allows to inform the beholder in a more detailed way. The isometric drawing mode gives the opportunity to open and convert the suggested space inside-out and focus on the narrative details within the objects and buildings. The pencil as a drawing tool allows the well-known combination of lines, hatchings and traces of work. the overlay of lines and surfaces shows an entertaining, stimulating and narrative formal complexity with spatial contradictions dissolving in the effect where the whole drawing stands as a piece of drawing work for itself. The drawing shows a personal interpretation of the german ruhrgebiet and simultaneously opens architecural space through the effects of a pencil drawing.
